The South East CDC has established
a Community Outreach Programme for the Elderly (COPE) since
1999.
Under this programme, our volunteers
befriend and look after the elderly, many of whom are single
or living alone, within rental flats. The programme is currently
1,800 volunteer strong.
One group of COPE volunteers have
set up a coffee service for the elderly at Tg Rhu in a converted
bin centre. They call it affectionately, as the COFFEE BIN.
The COFFEE BIN is open daily from
3.30pm to 5.30pm to the elderly in the area. They are served
coffee and snacks.
Volunteers are needed to talk to
the elderly, conduct games and even simple language lessons
at the COFFEE BIN.
If you are interested to be a volunteer,
